Who We Are

Soka Toto Muda Initiative Trust

We are a Christian founded, non-profit making organization. We reach out to vulnerable and talented children through Sports (SOKA TOTO), Creative Arts (MUDA), Mentorship, Discipleship and Outreaches, Life skills, empowerment and psycho-Social Support to Young Mothers.

We believe that by touching the heart of a child, we have impacted the community at large. Moreover, by supporting the young mothers, their children will have wide range of opportunities when they grow up because of empowerment.

We therefore ensure that no child is left out/behind by exposing them to various activities which suitably fits their abilities. This will enable them become more disciplined, God fearing, cultivate critical thinking, problem solving and finally be holistically self reliant citizens in the society.

Brian Nathan

Our History
2020

Soka Toto Muda Initiative Trust was founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic when schools were closed and children remained at home. This exposed children to risks such as lack of guidance, mental inactivity, depression and negative influences. In Nairobi’s informal settlements, crime, drug abuse, hunger, early pregnancies and indiscipline increased due to job losses.

In response, coaches led by Brian Nathan engaged children through mentorship, discipleship, Bible studies, football activities and snacks to encourage participation. The initiative began as Soccer Toto Academy, focusing on football and started with 50 children aged 6–18 in Waithaka, later growing to 70.

When schools reopened, attendance dropped as children returned to school, families relocated, coaches resumed work and financial challenges arose. These factors led to the academy’s closure in January 2021.

2024

After the collapse of Soccer Toto Academy, Brian Nathan (Founder) felt called to continue serving the community. He reflected, planned, and sought people who shared his vision, passion, and servant leadership. Over time, he was joined by Momanyi Dennis (Administration), Paul Ngao (Community Integration), Seline Adhiambo (Children Safeguarding & Young Mothers Program), Fabrice (Programs Coordinator), and Emmanuel Kiptoo (ICT & Automation). This team allowed a transition from a football academy to a holistic child-focused Community-Based Organization. On August 30, 2024, the organization was officially registered by the Ministry of Labor & Social Protection as Soka Toto Muda Initiative Trust (STMI Trust) in Kabiria, Dagoretti South, Nairobi.

2025

Guided by the values of Faith, Integrity, Holistic Development, and Empowerment, STMI Trust implemented seven core programs: Soka (Soccer, Table Tennis & Basketball), Muda (Music & Dance), Chess, Discipleship & Outreach, Feeding, Teen/Young Mothers Support and Digital Literacy. These programs ensure no child is left behind while promoting talent development, dignity-driven services and self-reliance among beneficiaries.
